Webmax wins!

Well, not yet (they wish) but they have been nominated for Business Leader in the 2021 Canada’s Volunteer Awards.

Yes, press people! You read that correctly. WebMax was going to write a run-of-the-mill formal press release, but frankly this is such a big deal that they’re way too excited for any of that.

The fact that Webmax has been nominated means that someone out there (if you must know, Sherry Thomson from the Sooke Shelter Society) thought that they were totally amazing to be deserving of this super-cool accolade. And given that they are so stoking-ley grateful, Webmax just wanted to tell everyone they know and frankly, everyone they don’t.

Collette said he “stumbled upon” the Better Buy Sooke initiative, a partnership between the Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce and the business group Webmax Marketing. The owner of Webmax, said Collette, has “strong ties” to the Alberni Valley.

“We jumped at the opportunity to partner with them,” said Collette. “It was just kind of a fluke. It was something that fell into our laps.” – Alberni Valley News

Software is being provided free by Hewlett-Packard, while Sooke-based Webmax.ca is volunteering to do the necessary sanitizing and reformatting. – Times Colonist

Business applicants pour in to Sooke Region Chamber of Commerce’s shop local initiative

So far, 39 businesses have a presence on the site and an additional 20 applicants are still being processed and set up.

The chamber has partnered with WebMax for the project, who works with the vendor upon signing up to design and finalize their Better Buy Sooke coupon.  – Victoria News
